14 Days of Love: completed!!

We did it! It's finally done! Okay, so as it turns out, 14 days was a long time. A lot of clues. A lot of thinking. Especially when we were both working full time hours. But together, with me hiding them and him finding them (not always on time) we managed to get to Valentine's day feeling extra loved and accomplished! At least me, anyways.

The Dollar Store was a great place for me to get all of my little knick-knacks and treats. Most days when he found his clue, there would be a treat or little gift. Although, there were a couple days where he didn't find it, merely because he forgot to look. And other days he started to look before I had a chance to hide it! haha. Oh well, it was fun and unique.

On Valentine's Day he had to find his 14th clue. The last clue that would lead him to his valentines gift. I had it locked up in his gun locker.

I think next year, if I do this sort of thing again, I'll probably only do 7 days. And I might do it for Leah next year rather than Matt. She would colour pictures for him and hide them, expecting him to find them. Sweet girl.

And since it's still February, I'll leave you with a cute little quote I found and really liked.

14 Days of love: here we go!

Yesterday my husband found his first clue in  our truck along with a grab bag of chips. His second clue is hidden and ready to be found when he wakes up! This is actually a lot of fun. Each day I'll have him find his clue and depending on the location, if I can fit a little treat then I will. Today though, it's just his clue, waiting for him behind our TV. This clue will lead him to his next one tomorrow, which will be hiding under his pillow with a Twix chocolate bar. ;) I'm looking forward to working on the rest of the clues and trying to stump him. If you're not doing the 14 Days of Love Project you could always do just 7 days! There's still plenty of time for you to get your clues ready and spice up your typical valentines traditions! Also, I'm more than certain that it makes them feel super special! :)
Happy month of February everyone!!

My 14 Days of Love Project

Valentines Day is less than a month away. We never do anything big. Like, ever. But this year I'm thinking of doing something big. And unexpected. And fun. And memorable.

I'm currently reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and if you've read it then you'll be familiar with the little "Anniversary treasure hunt" that she annually sends her husband on. I thought it was kinda cute.

So. My idea? I'm thinking I'll just go with the flow. But I want to leave little clues for my husband to find each day starting on February 1st, and then on Valentine's Day he will have the last clue that leads him to his gift.

*Warning! Mushy Gushy Alert*

My husband is my ultimate valentine. The man has worked his butt off for the last 6 years providing for our little family. All we have is because of his hard work. Some pretty exciting things happened this past week and big things are in store for this family of ours. I owe it to him to make him feel ultimately special this Valentine's Day. I'm excited and I've already started thinking of little clues and small little gifts to leave around. I haven't figured out yet all the small details but this is what I'm thinking.

It's going to be fun, and it'll keep me busy for sure. But that's why I'm getting a head start close to a month away! What kinds of things do you do with your husbands or wives for this month of LOVE?
